We offer teams playing time on the local fields - there is no fee, but with so many teams participating in this tournament, we will provide scheduling for team practices so there is no conflict with other teams. To schedule your team practice time, simply contact our office at 1-888-GO-IWFFA or email us at: iwffa@iwffa.com

We will use this space on the itinerary to remind teams and loose players, that hotel bookings through our office are part of your tournament registration

International Teams will arrive to Miami Airport, thanks to: ,     and drive down to Key West for the 3 hour, sometimes 4 hour drive (it depends on who is driving, how much traffic, & how many have to go to the bathroom, etc.)

   Team Nigeia will get their first training for flag football (they have never played before) 9:00 - 12:00 AM.

(Change of Date and Time) Bridget's House Boat Swim - 1 - 4PM party #2 Bridget will pick up everyone from the magroves in her dingy (it has a moter on it) and we will swim and dance on her house boat. A Real House Boat! (this is an experience you will never be able to purchase on any of the professional island tours.  Conch Mermaid Mobil Tour: $5.00 per person includes beer or soda - Teams are invited on our special - very fun, island tour given by Pat, who use to drive for the kw trolley tour. Pat will offer us a "very special" tour and promises everyone a lot of fun! We will load up as many women as we can fit in the back of the pick up and take all around places in Key West, you never knew existed. We will pick you up at your hotel and take you on "Pat's Tour" from 12 - 3PM.

International & Girls Scrimmage Games - Early evening 6PM at Bernstein Park, Stock Island (5st and 6 ave) we continue our international day celebrations with scrimmage games between all international teams and local girls teams. 20 minute playing time for each team. Wednesday, February 9th        IWFFA  Officiating Clinic

            Team Nigeia will get their flag football training 9:00 - 11:30 AM   and 5 - 7 PM

 IWFFA Officiating Clinic 2:00 ­ 6:00 PM Pre- Registration (free to any IWFFA member)

We strongly encourage female flag football players to learn how to officiate and here is your chance!

Location: George Mira Football Field at the Wicker Complex (Kennedy Blvd + 14st)

An in-depth course for those who are serious about officiating women's and girl's flag-football games. Successful completion provides IWFFA certification and allows you to officiate in any of the sanctioned IWFFA tournaments. Course includes: Learning definitions and In-depth understanding of IWFFA rules (page by page). Learning mechanics associated with officiating and field positioning. During tournament, participants will do chains on field (learning how to command the chains), then referee as a 4th official during tournament games (to be monitored and rated by instructor). Come prepared with official's uniform including: Official's black and white shirt, black shorts, black cleats white socks, whistle, score card and 2 yellow flags. Each team is encouraged to have one of it's players participate.

Wednesday Night Party - We decdied to let the teams do whatever they wanted. Perhaps the Duval Crawl, to check out 801 Girls or to hang out at your hotels, guesthouses, condos. However,This is the night you should get sleep, for it will be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG weekend! (you will need your energy)

We ask teams to NOT practice at Wicker Field Complex today - They are being lined up today and you only get in the way!

    Team Nigeia will get their flag football training (last one before tournament)   9:00 - 10:30 AM

 1 - 3PM - Officials Meeting Official Officials- officiating the tournament, must be at our Officials Meeting - to meet by food concession stand at Wicker Field Park (14th & Kennedy Blvd). 2004 IWFFA      rules have been modified, we will use 2005 rules which new guidelines have been incorporated for all our IWFFA tournaments. This meeting puts all our tournament officials on      the same page for our competition.

Location: 1125 Duval St. (what a great location for our party's parade!)     Party #5

Our Special Celebrity Guest and Speaker for this year's tournament is WNBA's Sandy Brondello . We will introduce our newest teams from Nigeria and welcome all the teams. Welcome to the city by Key West Mayor Jimmy Weekly, City Manager Julio Avael, City Commissioner Tom Oosterhoudt, County Mayor Dixie Spehar to name a few. Countries will come up to the stage / present their national flag and sing national anthem (some teams may want to play a tape for background music). American anthem will be sung by Clayton Lopez and Wilhemina Martin in addition to other national songs of the US. This party is a nice warm -up for the parade. Drinks, food available and Music. We ask all teams to be there and join our Best Costume and Best Team Contest - Prizes Will be Given.

 5:00 PM ­ Teams Line Up (Frank is back and is our Parade Coordinator and we must listen to him!)

5PM - Kelly McGillis Players Parade ­ 6th Annual - and we want ALL TEAMS to march with usand bring your team banner, state flag or county flag! Party #6


  
Location: Line up 1125 Duval St @ We go down Duval from Catherine St to Greene St. where the parade ends. Our Grand  Marshall  will be secret Sandy Brondello, and joined by our City  Mayor Jimmy Weekly, County Mayor Dixie Sphear, Julio Avael, Tom Oosterhous Commisioner and many other local celebrities. This year, Nigeria joins us and will march with all the National and International Teams, followed by first ever, special football float (we love you TIM), all our guests, celebrities and players.

Bring your banners to represent your team, or national flag. Prizes for Best Team and Best Individual Costume!   

7PM ­ 10PM Meet & Greet ­  Host Hotel:     Grand Key Resort - 3990 South Roosevelt Blvd    Party #7 .
All Players must attend and be officially cleared from roster Teams meet and socialize as they officially register for the tournament showing their IWFFA membership cards and photo I.D.'s. If your team has registered all materials to us and you owe us no money, please go to the EXPRESS LINE! Rosters close at 10:00 PM*

Entertainment: will perform a wide variety of music including distinctive original songs and music from other artists. Photo board of teams who have participated in past Key West tournaments along with archives of women's flag football will be displayed. Tonight we will feature our NFL deput of Football America (this was the national television exposure we received - FOUR - times in October 2004). The media piece features our Key West tournament! Slide show presentation of flag football action shots. Pick up player registration "goodie bag" that night and find your fantastic "goodies" as part of your tournament registration. Manager's Meeting - 8PM (one rep per team) ­ go to meeting room
Meeting will start at 8:15 in separate room at the Grand Key Resort. Refreshments  will be served. Tournament head official Scott Porter will go over IWFFA rules. Tournament format, Tie Breaker and Protests will be described and teams will be seeded into their divisional brackets.

And while the meeting is going on, the crowd is going wild    We will do the Swedish version of: karaoke - called "Allsang" where everyone sings, not just one poor schlepp in the crowd. (I guess the Swedes had a hard time singing songs solo, that the only way they could sing, was with a crowd ? Whatever, anyway, here are the songs we will sing, so get ready: Brown Eyed Girl (Van the Man), I feel fine (Beatles), Mustang Sally (we don't know the artist), Closer to Fine (indigo girls (( we better pick up the beat a bit!)), Horse with no name (no way, we will take this sucker out), Proud Mary (you go Tina!). Prizes to the team who sings the best. And if we get any suggestions for better songs, please call us up ASAP! do you have suggestions for us ?

Friday, February 11th - 1st day of competition for women's teams

Teams are asked to come to the information table, located in the middle of the Wicker Facility before their first game to take their team photo for the tournament (before you get your shirts dirty!).

9:00 AM / 10:30 / 12:00 /1:30 PM/ 3:00 / 4:30 / 6:00 / 7:30 (if necessary)
Teams need to be ready to play 10 minutes before their game time for equipment / roster check. Be on time - or start your game with a Delay of Game penalty!

Half Time Games - Sponsor Lazy Dog Charters - 5110 OverSeas Hwy (at Hurricane Hole Marina) You could win a free kayak trip! (so get in shape). On the main field. Throughout the tournament, during half time, will be competition for players and fans to join. Longest kick, furthest throw, relay races, most push-ups, etc. Prizes to winners (YAYYYYYY!). We will bring back last years wheel barrel race so get ready for some high action fun!

     Location: 305 Duval St. Sign up at 7:30 and games will begin at 8PM. 10 Teams of 4 players will compete in your "not so typical" bar games. Baby Bottle Sucking, Hoop Shots, Beer Chugging, plus more.

    Fat's will award prizes to top winners! Hosted by Fat Tuesdays and will be announced by radio personality, Rude Girl. Show your IWFFA membership cards at door.

Saturday, February 12th - 1st day of competition for girls (2nd day for the women)

9:00AM ­ Games begin at Wicker Field / George Mira Fields Located at Flagler, Kennedy Blvd and 14th st.

Special Autograph Session with Sandy Brondello     and President IWFFA - Approximately between 1PM - 3PM

We will set up a table near main field, for autographs from our special guest this year and our president of IWFFA . The duration will be for half an hour, and time will be somewhere between 1PM - 3PM . Sorry, we will no longer autograph checks!

 

             Rugby Match - 7's Game will be demonstrated by two women's rugby teams: Naples Women's Rugby Club vs Ft. Lauderdale Women's Rugby Club. They will play 20 - 25 minute 7's match.

Party #9 Women's Party will be at:    Atlantic Shores welcomes the women of flag football with twice the fun on Saturday night;

SCORE a Dance party for Women will be happening out back on the deck from 8pm til midnight, in the front at the Diner Bar we will have live music with singer/ songwriter Sandra Knight. A little something for everyone!

Girls Awards
Will be given on field #2 immediately following their last championship game. Trophy Plaque to top three teams and First Place Championship Sweatshirts to top team as well as a Free Team Registration to any IWFFA tournament. President of IWFFA Diane Beruldsen will give out awards: MVP's and Special Select All Stars. We hope the girls and young ladies enjoy the rest of the Women's games after their awards are over and find a seat in the bleachers!

Special Half Time Show
During the Last Championship Game, we will have a wonderful performance, live, on the field, during half time.

 

 IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN AT: HURRICANE JOE'S MARINA BAR & RESTAURANT

    Located at Hurrican Hole. Address: 5110 Overseas Hyw. (Just over the US 1 bridge). Special food will be prepared, two full bars, one is a Dock Bar - right on the water! Our Special Celebrity, Sandy Brondell will help to give out the awards. Every player will receive tournament souvenier, and Team Awards will be presented as well as Special awards: Porter Wilson Award / #1 Teams for 2004

Folliwing awards, Hurricane Joe's will open into a Hot Dance Club for our "Last Tournament Dance "to end the night.

Party #11 Breakfast Party - 10:30 AM Put some food in your stomach before you leave the island! location: Key West Diner on 2814 N. Roosevelt Blvd. They offer breakfast buffet (really cheap) and regular, deliecious, off the menu food.
