Tuesday, February 3

 International Day - All day and all night.

 International teams will be aired on live radio broadcast by during their morning show with hostess "Rude Girl"

Wednesday, February 4

3 K run 11:00 AM ­ 9th Annual (free / no-registration required / just come) 10:45 line-up

Location: White street Pier on White St and Atlantic Drive. Open to all Females: Players, Fans and KW Locals. Prizes to top winners.

 

 IWFFA Officiating Clinic 1:00 ­ 6:00 PM Pre- Registration (free / no registration required to any IWFFA member) Location: George Mira Football Field (Kennedy Blvd + 14st)

An in-depth course for those who are serious about officiating women's and girl's flag-football games. Successful completion provides certification and allows you to officiate in any of the sanctioned IWFFA tournaments. Course includes: Learning definitions and In-depth understanding of IWFFA rules (page by page). Learning mechanics associated with officiating and field positioning. During tournament, participants will do chains on field (learning how to command the chains), then referee in Beginner and Girls division (to be monitored and rated by instructor). Come prepared with official's uniform including: Official's black and white shirt, black shorts, black cleats white socks, whistle, score card and 2 yellow flags. Each team is encouraged to have one of it's players participate.

 

Thursday, February 5

3:30 - 4:55 PM - Pre-Parade Party / Opening Ceremonies
Location: 1125 Duval St.

Our Special Guest and Speaker for this year's tournament is: Chrissy Gephardt (daughter to democratic presidential candidate Richard Gephardt)

Welcome to the city by Key West Mayor Jimmy Weekly, City Manager Julio Avael, City Commissioner Tom Oosterhoudt to name a few. Countries will come up to the stage / present their national flag and sing national anthem (some teams may want to play a tape for background music). American anthem will be sung by Clayton Lopez and Wilhemina Martin.

5PM - Kelly McGillis Players Parade ­ Fifth Annual
Location: Line up 1125 Duval St @ We go down Duval from Caroline St to Greene St. where the parade ends. Our Grand Marshall will be Chrissy Gephardt and joined by our past Fantasy Fest Queens: Martha Robinson (2001), The Bitch Sisters(2002), Mayor Jimmy Weekly, Julio Avael, Tom Oosterhous Commisioner and many other local celebrities. This year, Nigeria joins us and will march with the National and International Teams, followed by floats, all our guests, celebrities and players.

Bring your banners to represent your team, or national flag. Prize for best Team Banner!    

7PM ­ 10PM Meet & Greet ­ Host Hotel:  Grand Key Resort - 3990 South Roosevelt Blvd.
All Players must attend and be officially cleared from roster
Teams meet and socialize as they officially register for the tournament showing their IWFFA membership cards and photo I.D.'s. If your team has registered all materials to us and you owe us no money, please go to the EXPRESS LINE! Rosters close at 10:00 PM*

Entertainment: will perform a wide variety of music including distinctive original songs and music from other artists. Photo board of teams who have participated in past Key West tournaments along with archives of women's flag football will be displayed. A special Olivia Cruise raffle will be held, who winners will be drawn following Sunday Night Awards! . Three full bars available, food and slide show presentation of flag football action shots. Pick up player registration "goodie bag" . Open your player registration bags that night and find your Olivia "goodie"...... put it on, and throughout the whole week on the island, should any Olivia Scout spot you and "Red Tag" you..... you will win a very nice prize! Raffle prizes will be drawn this night.

Manager's Meeting - 8PM (one rep per team) ­ go to meeting room
Meeting will start at 8:15 in separate room at the Grand Key Resort. Refreshments  will be served. Tournament head official Brian Johnston will go over IWFFA rules. Tournament format, Tie Breaker and Protests will be described and teams will be seeded into their divisional brackets.

And while the meeting is going on, the crowd is going wild    We will do the Swedish version of: karaoke - called "Allsang" where everyone sings, not just one poor schlepp in the crowd. (I guess the Swedes had a hard time singing songs solo, that the only way they could sing, was with a crowd ? Whatever, anyway, here are the songs we will sing, so get ready: Brown Eyed Girl (Van the Man), I feel fine (Beatles), Mustang Sally (we don't know the artist), Closer to Fine (indigo girls (( we better pick up the beat a bit!)), Horse with no name (no way, we will take this sucker out), Proud Mary (you go Tina!). Prizes to the team who sings the best. And if we get any suggestions for better songs, please call us up ASAP!

Friday ­ February 6th   1st Day Competition

Teams are asked to come to the information table, located in the middle of the Wicker Facility before their first game to take their team photo for the tournament (before you get your shirts dirty!).

9:00AM ­ Games begin at George Mira Football Field and Wicker Fields Complex
Kennedy Blvd / 14st and Flagler Ave (on all four fields!)

Time slots for all games will be every one hour and half:
9:00 AM / 10:30 / 12:00 /1:30 PM/ 3:00 / 4:30 / 6:00 / 7:30 (if necessary)

Half Time Games - Sponsored by Outdoor Adventures    (which means you will win some great prizes!) 
On the main field. Throughout the tournament, during half time, will be competition for players and fans to join. Longest kick, furthest throw, relay races, most push-ups, etc. Prizes to winners, such as Kayak Tours (YAYYYYYY!). We will bring back last years wheel barrel race so get ready for some high action fun!

Girls - Teen Dance 8PM till
Located: At the Youth Center next to KW Airport on South Roosevelt
Sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Key West. All the girls are invited to come on out and boogie!    

The music is great and the atmosphere is fun. Drinks and refreshments available (bring money) live DJ and great fun - Put on those danc'n shoes!

 

Fat Tuesday's Bar Olympic Games ­ "Wild Event" 8:00 PM ­till?
     Location: 305 Duval St. Sign up at 7:30 and games will begin at 8PM. 10 Teams of 4 players will compete in your "not so typical" bar games. Baby Bottle Sucking, Hoop Shots, Beer Chugging, plus more.

    Fat's will award prizes to top winners! Hosted by Fat Tuesdays and will be announced by radio personality, Rude Girl. Women must be over 18 yr of age, but those under 21, may    still come to participate (but drinking alcohol will be prohibited ­ Fl. State requires that you are 21 yr or older). Show your IWFFA membership cards at door.

Special Autograph Session with Chrissy Gephardt and President IWFFA - Approximately between 1PM - 3PM

We will set up a table near main field, for autographs from our special guest     this year and our president of IWFFA . The duration will be for half an hour, and time will be somewhere between 1PM - 3PM (so not to conflict with Chrissy's team schedule (she is one of the "Loose Women" this year. We will have a full page photo of Chrissy in our tournament program, which you may want to have autographed. As for the president..... she will no longer autograph checks (so don't even try).

Pearls Rainbow   5 - 7PM     Special Flag Football Coctail Happy Hour!

Originally a cigar factory, our main building dates from the 1880s. Several of our smaller buildings were once cigar-makers' cottages. Just enough time to rest, take a shower, go somewhere before dinner or your wild night out...... to Pearl's Rainbow, where all the local women go!

Girls Relay Night - 8:00 PM ­ 10:00 PM - at Teen Center by airport
Sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club Another party for the girls, this time we have you runnig around in relay races. Fun games, against teams from the tournament, and local kids who you will compete for prizes. Human wheel barrel races, team jump rope plus many more relay games you have never heard of before. Parents Welcome!

Custom design your own tropical adventure aboard Lazy Dog Charters! A $400 value which takes your entire kayak team on the most wonderful water trip you ever could have imagined (do some dolphin watching or light tackling fishing, whatever you want to do) . How do you win? The night will start out with $1 "shooters", not the type from the hip, but from the necklace everyone wears so when the bartender comes around, you can get a fill. Then, there is the Jumbayla (very special Cajun dish), to put some food in your stomach, then the kayaks start in a relay of 3 shifts who will race around some seamarks, and come back to dock. The only trick is that the front person is blind folded!

 

 

 

Sunday, February 8 Play-Offs & Championship Games TODAY! The Best of the Best

Time slots for all games will be every one hour and half: We start a little bit later today, in case the girls exhausted themselves during their relay races and the women had a few too many .......... but also, to give the play off teams and chance to rest for their big day.

Girls Awards
Will be given on field #2 immediately following their last championship game. Trophy Plaque to top three teams and First Place Championship Prizes to top team as well as a Free Team Registration to any IWFFA tournament. President of IWFFA Diane Beruldsen will give out awards: MVP's and Special Select All Stars. We hope the girls and young ladies enjoy the rest of the Women's games after their awards are over and find a seat in the bleachers!

Special Half Time Show ­ Lenore Troia ­ Singer / Artist
During the Last Championship Game Celebrity Lenore Troia, will give us a wonderful performance, live, on the field, during half time.

All Teams will be awarded (players given souvenir tournament pins), special awards to be presented: Porter Wilson Award, MVP's, All Star Team, Top three teams in each division receive trophy plaques. #1 Teams in their division for year 2003 will also receive special awards.
We ask all teams to come and participate as we come to the close of our 13th annual Kelly McGillis Classic. Full bar, and fine or quick food available throughout the night.

AQUA Dance club Closing Tournament Dance Party and final draw for our grand Prize raffle.

For the past four years, we have packed our last tournament dance party! And we will pack it in again. If you want to know where all the women will be, it will be at AQUA. The best dance music on the island will keep you groov'n till the wee hours. During the night, will be free give aways, and winner of this weekend's Olivia Cruise Raffle for a special 2 for 1 - four day cruise to the Bahamas, will be drawn! you must be present to win, however, so don't miss your change to win!

12:00 ­ 2:00 PM Team Rep after the tournament Meeting ­ Location: Hickory House Restaurant on Stock Island

Team rep's are asked to come voice their opinion for next years Kelly McGillis Classic and the IWFFA year 2004. It is a powerful meeting and you are encouraged to come and voice your opinion. Last year some pretty heavy things were discussed and rule changes made. If you want a voice ­ bring it. Food will be served and drinks available. We encourage each team to be represented.
